Joe Grubb - Head Coach

Joe has been with Anaconda for many years as a swimmer and has qualified as coach before becoming Head Coach in 2022.

His qualifications include: Swim England Swimming Coach, Swim England Assistant Swimming Coach, ASA/UKCC Level 2 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics and NRASTC lifeguarding qualification.

Michele Davies - Lead County Coach

Michele has been with Anaconda for many years and has coached many swimmers from academy and county to a level where they qualify for nationals. She was voted Best Coach by the swimmers in 2023.

Her qualifications include: ASA/UKCC Level 2 Certificate for Coaching Swimming, Swimming TOPS Sport 4 Hour, ASA Teachers Certificate for Swimming, ASA Advanced Teacher Certificate,

Ben Bedwell - Coach

Ben has been with Anaconda for many years. Known for his booming voice, he is passionate and is well loved by his swimmers. His qualifications include: Swim England Assistant Swimming Coach, ASA/UKCC Level 2 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics.

Harry Grubb - Lead Academy Coach

Harry has been a part of the Anaconda Swimming Club family since the age of 4, progressing as a swimmer from the swim school programme all the way through to the competitive club. At the age of 16, he became a qualified swimming teacher and started working with both the swim school programme and the competitive club. Harry became the lead coach for the academy squad in 2022, supporting the swimmers transition from the swim school programme into competitive swimming smoothly. From 2021 - 2023, Harry worked full time within swimming, both working for Anaconda Swimming Club and delivering school swimming lessons to a wide range of schools. He has experience teaching public primary and secondary schools, disability schools and behavioral management schools.

Harry holds many other qualifications that have supported him to develop his knowledge around both teaching and coaching swimming. The qualifications he holds are; Level 2 Swimming Teaching, Level 2 Swimming Coach, BSc degree in Sports, Health and Exercise Sciences, PGCE and QTS in Primary Education, and NRASTC lifeguarding qualification.

Harry’s experience at the club has influenced his huge passion for swimming and all sports, which is clearly evident throughout his work for the club, whether at training sessions, training camps and competitions. Delivering success at all levels of the swimming club is hugely important for Harry, which has helped the club see swimmers progress from the swim school programme into high level competitive swimmers.

David Broadbent - Director of Swimming

David holds a degree in Sports Science and is a Level 3 coach. David has been with Hackney Aquatics since July 2020.

Sydney Celul - Lead Academy Coach & City Squad

Her qualifications include: Swim England Assistant Swimming Coach, ASA Level 2 Certificate for Teaching Swimming.

Alex has Swim England Swimming Coach, Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Aquatics (QCF).

Her qualifications include: Swim England Swimming Coach, SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching)

Sarah Taylor-Reid - Coach

Sarah's qualifications include Swim England Assistant Swimming Coach, ASA/UKCC Level 2 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics

Maree Rolf - Head Teacher, Swim School

Maree is a dedicated swimming teacher. She has ASA Advanced Teacher Certificate and RLSS NLPQ lifeguarding qualification.

Samuel Williams - Swim Teacher

Sammy is an ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher and RLSS NLPQ lifeguarding qualification.

Lorraine Walker - Swim Teacher

Lorraine Walker has ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification.

Åsa Westerlund - Teacher, Swim School

Åsa Westerlund has SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming and RLSS NLPQ lifeguarding qualification.
